This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information for the Unfiltered Travel Photography Competition, run by Excio (NZ) in partnership with Vamoos (UK). By submitting your photos or using our website, you agree to the terms below.

We collect the following information when you take part in the competition or interact with our website:

Your email address
Your country of residence
Photo files you submit
Captions, descriptions or notes you choose to provide
Links you supply to shared folders (Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, etc.)
Basic technical information from your device such as IP address and browser type

2. Why we collect this information

We collect this information so we can:

Review and select photographs for the competition
Contact you if your work is shortlisted or selected
Pay you for selected photographs
Display chosen photographs on our website and partner platforms
Attribute your work correctly
Improve the competition experience and keep our platform running smoothly

We only collect the information we genuinely need to run the competition.

3. How your photos are used

If your photos are selected:

They may appear on the Unfiltered website, Excio’s platforms, the Vamoos app, Vamoos users and clients, and related promotional materials
They may be featured on our social channels or in newsletters
They will always be credited with your name
You retain full copyright. We only receive the licence you agree to in the competition terms.

If your photos are not selected:

They are stored securely in our archive
They are not published or shared
They may be considered in future review rounds unless you ask us to delete them

4. Who can access your information

Your information is accessible only to:

The Excio team running the competition
The judging team
Our trusted partners at Vamoos (UK)
Service providers who help us operate our website and submission system

We never sell your data or share it with anyone outside these groups.

5. Payments

If you have winning or selected photos, we may need additional information such as your bank or PayPal details to process payments. Financial details are only used for payment and are never shared with partners or advertisers.

6. How we store and protect your information

We keep your personal information and photo files in secure systems with restricted access.
We take reasonable steps to protect your data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

If a data breach ever occurs, we will notify you as soon as possible.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information for as long as the competition continues or until you ask us to delete it.
Photo files that are not selected may be removed after 12 months unless you tell us you’d like them deleted earlier.

8. Your rights

At any time, you can:

Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
Ask us to correct your details
Ask us to delete your photos or personal information
Withdraw from the competition
Ask questions about how your information is handled
